No, MPEG-2 channels will also be there, so you can watch them in MPEG-2 Receivers.

Sir, if I purchase mpeg 4 settop box , than in future will it worth as I heard that soon DD will go with encryption and so they will issue settop box from some selected gotvt approved distributers , my question is our existing settop box will be useful at that time?

Practicing untouchability is a punishable crime in India. But still DD Free seems to be practicing untouchability as far as selection of channels are concerned. While tens of North Indian language private news and entertainment channels are included in the list of channels, not a single private Tamil news. or /entertainment channel is included in the list. Please add at least 5 Tamil free to air channels such as Pudhiyathalaimurai, Thanthi Tv, News 7 Tamil, Makkal Thollaikatci,Captain Tv etc.
Sililarly add free to air channels in Malayalam such as Amrita, Mazhavil Manorama, some news channels etc’,Telugu free to air channels such as Bhakthi Tv, SVBC, some news channels etc.

By seeing Admin replies, I understand that, there is no official word on iCAS based STB as of now.
I wish to install DD free dish with DVB-S2 HD receiver. I understand even this STB won’t work with iCAS based channels.
1)What will be your recommendation?
Should I wait for some more time for having an STB with futureproof. ie it will work with non-iCAS MPEG2 as well as iCAS MPEG4?
2) Also I understand that iCAS is only a Software. With a firmware upgrade, I hope that the existing STB (DVB-S2 HD) can be made to work as iCAS based? Do you have any inside info on this?
3)Lastly, even after launching and installing of iCAS based STB, can it be used for receiving FTA channels of other sattelites like Dish TV? Do you have any info on this? (For eg Sun DTH STB cannot be used for receiving DD free dish)
